Cougars in 11th after 36 holes at Hurricane Invitational

BYU women’s golf sits in 11th after the opening 36 holes of the Hurricane Invitational on Monday. The Cougars have carded rounds of 297 and 289 to tally 586 strokes and shoot 10-over-par on day one.

CORAL GABLES, Florida — BYU women’s golf sits in 11th after the opening 36 holes of the Hurricane Invitational on Monday. The Cougars have carded rounds of 297 and 289 to tally 586 strokes and shoot 10-over-par on day one.

The tournament host, the University of Miami (278-278—556), leads after the Hurricanes finished the first day 20-under-par. Big 12 foe Oklahoma sits in second with rounds of 275-288—563 at 13-under-par. 

Lila Galeai is tied for 31st with rounds of 73-72–145 at 1-over-par. Both MJ Barragan (76-71–147) and Adeline Anderson (73-74–147) are tied for 37th at 3-over. 

Lily McCualey carded rounds of 75-74–149 to sit in a tie for 46th at 5-over-par. Sunbin Seo (78-72–150) rounds out the scoring for the Cougars at 6-over. 

Lilly DeNunzio, who is participating as an individual, is tied for 34th as she carded matching one-over 73s in both of her day-one rounds. 

The Cougars will look to move up the leaderboard in the final round on Tuesday. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
