STILLWATER – The opening round of the 2024 Big 12 Women's Tennis Championship gets underway on Wednesday, April 17, at 6:00 p.m. CDT at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Fifth-seeded BYU plays 12th-seeded Iowa State for a chance to advance to Thursday's quarterfinals round.

- The Cougars finished the regular season with a 16-6 record, including 8-5 in Big 12 Conference matches.
- Last week, BYU defeated Cincinnati 7-0 and West Virginia 4-0 to close out the regular season.
- Head coach Holly Hasler is in her sixth season with a record of 74-53. Assistant coach Gabby Curtis is in her third season.
- Bobo Huang (15-5) leads the Cougars in singles victories with 15.
- Tina Li (11-8) and Kendall Kovick (11-8) are tied for second on the team in singles victories with 11 wins.
- Senior Emilee Astle sits at 9-5 in singles on the year.
- The doubles team of Kaavya Sawhney/Huang is 14-3 this season together as a partnership.
- Astle and Kovick are ranked No. 41 nationally as a doubles tandem. The duo has an 8-5 record in 2024 together. Jacque Dunyon and Huang are also ranked together nationally, tabbed as the No. 89 duo in the country.
- Huang is currently ranked No. 114 in singles nationally.
- BYU is ranked No. 40 in the country.
- The Cougars have four victories over ranked opponents this season.
- BYU's eight Big 12 victories in 2024 are the most conference victories in a season under head coach Hasler since she began leading the program in 2018.
- The Cougars' 16 victories this year are their most in a season since 2007, when BYU won 22 matches.

- The Cyclones finished the regular season with a 4-16 record, including 2-11 in Big 12 Conference matches.
- Last week, Iowa State lost to No. 55 UCF 4-0 and defeated Houston 5-2 to close out the regular season.
- Head coach Jaron Maestas is in his first season leading the program and recently spent the last two seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Kansas.
- Iowa State made it to the semifinals of the Big 12 Championships last year and fell to No. 14 Oklahoma, 3-4.
- The Cyclones finished third in the Big 12 last season.
- Iowa State made a run in the NCAA Tournament in 2023, making it to the quarterfinals and falling to No. 4 NC State.
