Born 11/20/71 in Idaho Falls, Idaho...parents are Gary and Luci...completed half of the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia, in the summer of '93...might return to the Marine program after football...recruited by UCLA, Arizona and Alabama...majoring in political science.

Before BYU

Received three letters each in football, basketball and track at Madison High...all-area three consecutive years and all-state for two years...named Idaho defensive player and offensive lineman of the year as a senior and a high school All-American...also a state champion in the discus as a junior...coached by Kelly Thompson.

1991 | Freshman Year

Selected to the first team Freshman All-America by Football News...was honorable mention All-WAC...started at right tackle after the first game when Brad Hunter was injured...had 10 tackles against Air Force...named defensive lineman of the game by the coaches against Penn State, UTEP and San Diego State.

1992 | Sophomore Year

Named first team Sophomore All-America by Football News...was second team All-WAC...had eight total tackles vs. Notre Dame...named BYU's top lineman against Hawai'i, Notre Dame, Air Force and Utah...led BYU in sacks (10) and forced two fumbles.

1993 | Junior Year

Selected Almost All-America by the Football News and honorable mention All-WAC...blocked a punt against Air Force...selected by the coaching staff as defensive lineman of the game against New Mexico, Air Force and Utah State...led team against AFA with nine tackles, a fumble recovery, a QB hurry and a sack.
