Parents are Eddie and Gladys...recruited by Arizona State, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona and New Mexico Highlands...majoring in recreation administration.

Before BYU

Prepped at Grants High...named New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year...voted state's offensive MVP for two years...named team's most valuable back...lettered three times in football, basketball and track...competed in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, long jump and the high jump...coached by Joe Burton (New Mexico State).

1986 | Freshman Year

Played with the junior varsity.

1987 | Redshirt Year

Was not in school.

1988 | Sophomore Year

Was leading rushed with junior varsity and rushed for two varsity touchdowns..caught one pass for 16 yards...was on kickoff return team at the end of the season.

1989 | Junior Year

Earned backup halfback spot in spring practice...ran on track relay teams at WAC championships...tied an NCAA record when he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns against Air Force...rushed for 159 yards, including an 81-yard TD run against Utah.
