TYLER, Texas — BYU junior receiver Keanu Hill was named to the 11th annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List on Thursday for the second consecutive season. 

The watch list, featured 69 student-athletes from 10 conferences and one independent school. To be considered for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria — born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school, played at a Texas-based junior college and/or Texas-based four-year college. 

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in college football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community involvement and the tenacity to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. 

A native of Bedford, Texas, Hill was a candidate for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award in 2022 and was recognized as Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week Honorable Mention on Nov. 19, following his three-touchdown, 137-yard receiving performance versus Utah Tech. 

Hill was named to the College Football Network All-Independent First Team after finishing the 2022 season second on the team with 572 receiving yards on 36 catches, with seven touchdowns. 

Over the past four seasons, the redshirt Covid junior has appeared in 37 games for BYU, including all 26 games during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Hill has totaled 61 catches for 1,025 yards and 10 touchdowns, while averaging 16.8 yards-per catch during his BYU career. 

The 2023 watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award will be narrowed to 16 semifinalists in November and then five finalists in December. The winner will be selected by a panel of broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans and previous award winners. 

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award winner will be announced in January and will receive the trophy sculptured by noted artist Ken Bjorge.
