BYU Football 100th Season

CELEBRATING 100 SEASONS OF BYU FOOTBALL

Brigham Young University will play its one hundredth season of varsity football in 2024. The one hundred years of Cougar football did not occur consecutively, as BYU, like many other universities, did not field a team for three seasons during World War II. BYU played its inaugural intercollegiate athletic football game on Oct. 7, 1922, at Timpanogos Park in Provo, Utah. On Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at LaVell Edwards Stadium, the Cougars will kick off the 1,086th game in program history and officially begin the 100th season of BYU football.

BYU 50 IS BACK

Starting in Alabama on July 12, we will be dropping boxes in all 50 states, ending with Wyoming on Aug. 30. Stay tuned for the reveal of what each box will contain and information on how you can participate.

BYU Football: A Celebration of 100 Seasons

BYUtv will televise nationally a special two-hour live program entitled BYU Football: A Celebration of 100 Seasons on Saturday, July 27 from 7-9 p.m. MDT. The program will feature some of the legendary happenings over the century of Cougar football while highlighting BYU’s unique football legacy and history.
