STANFORD, Calif. - Lexy Halladay-Lowry ran the sixth-fastest 3000-meter steeplechase time in NCAA history Friday night at the Payton Jordan Invitational.

The reigning Big 12 Track & Field Athlete of the Week won the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:18.05. The mark ranks No. 2 all-time at BYU and currently leads the Big 12 while standing at No. 3 in the NCAA this season. The senior from Meridian, Idaho was a First Team All-American in the event at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

On April 17, Halladay-Lowry’s broke BYU's school record in the 5000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational  running 14:52.93—the third-fastest time in NCAA history. She ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 and No. 2 in the NCAA in the 12.5-lap event. 

1500m

Riley Chamberlain led BYU in the 1500m placing first in 4:11.49. Chamberlain placed 14th in the event at the 2024 NCAA outdoor championships and holds BYU's No. 4 all-time mark of 4:10.24.

Jenna Hutchins placed third with a personal-best time of 4:15.26. The junior from Johnson City, Tennessee recently broke BYU's school record in the 10,000m with a time of 32:22.98 at the Bryan Clay Invitational April 16. 

Freshman Tessa Buswell clocked 4:16.37 for fifth, followed by Carlee Hansen in sixth at 4:18.48 and Taylor Lovell in seventh at 4:19.44.

800m

Kylie Olsen led the Cougars in the women’s 800m, earning third place with a time of 2:07.70. Fellow sophomore Elyse Jessen crossed the line in fourth, finishing in 2:11.87.

The BYU only competed in the hammer throw for day one of the Aggie Invitational. Kat Beachler placed third in the event with a new personal best throw of 52.98m/173-10. The freshman from Omaha, Nebraska recently added her name to BYU's top-10 board in the shot put with the program's No. 10 throw of 14.89m/49-1 at the Beach Invitational. 

Jayda Lee placed fifth with a seacon-best throw of 51.46m/156-10. Lia Pili placed seventh with a mark of 49.16m/161-3 and Brooklyn Montgomery placed eigthth with 46.80m/156-10.
