- Team captain as a senior and junior
- Had 174 strikeouts and an 18-8 record in his prep career
- Also lettered in basketball
- His FFA team won the state championship
- Was in the Range & Land Management club
- Was History and Spanish Junior of the Year and Math Freshman of the Year
- Played two years with the Utah Marshalls
- Was on the team that won the Phil Singer Summer Series
