Coached by Al Jacobus at Sweetwater High School...was all-league first team two years, All-CIF Honorable Mention in 1978 and All-CIF 2nd Team 1979...all-league honorable mention in 1979 in basketball...was the No. 1 triple jumper and long jumper in his county...National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete.

Busy throughout season as a JV regular and varsity reserve.

1977 | Sophomore Year

Started on varsity squad.

1980 | Junior Year

Named honorable mention All-America and All-WAC first team...against Utah named coaches' player of the game on the offensive line.
