Before BYU

  • Played at Timpview High, coached by Louis Wong
  • First-team Utah 4A all-state defensive back for 2009 by both Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News
  • Named defensive MVP on 2009 all-Valley team selected by Provo Herald
  • Ranked 10th-best player and second-best defensive back in Midlands region (Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Utah) by SuperPrep
  • Made 77 tackles and had three interceptions as senior safety in 2009
  • Also played wide receiver
  • Led team in tackles as junior in 2008 with 74 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles
  • Made 51 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as sophomore in 2007
  • Earned second-team all-conference recognition as sophomore
  • Led Timpview to four straight Utah 4A state titles, as starter each of last three seasons 

2013 | Freshman Year

  • Transferred from Notre Dame and was giving a waiver to play immediately
  • Recorded five tackles and .5 tackles for loss against Idaho State
  • Saw action in 10 games

2014 | Sophomore Year

  • Earned letterman honors as a sophomore
  • Played in 12 games
  • Recorded six tackles on the season with a season-high of four including his first-career fumble recovery in the Miami Beach Bowl against Memphis

2015 | Junior Year

  • Notched his first career pass break up against Wagner
  • Recorded 14 total tackles including a season-high three against East Carolina
  • Played in all 13 games, seeing time mostly on special teams

2016 | Senior Year

  • Played in six games
  • Played on special teams units
  • Helped BYU cover units rank No. 6 in punt returns allowed and No. 19 in kick returns allowed
  • Saw action at safety
