Parents are Faatautau and Susan...married to June Saelua...recruited by California, Oregon State, Hawai'i, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah State, Michigan State, Utah, Illinois, Tennessee, Air Force and Navy...majoring in business management.

Before BYU

Voted athlete of the year in '82...won eight letters at Radford High, four in football, two each in basketball and track...two-year all-star selection as tight end and running back...twice was an all-star selection as a basketball forward...won the high jump in the Oahu Interscholastic League Western Division...coached by the late John Velasco (BYU).

1983 | Freshman Year

Played with the jayvees and had one interception as a safety...saw some varsity special teams action.

1984 | Sophomore Year

Moved to fullback in spring drills...backup fullback to Lakei Heiumuli...rushed for 72 yards on 15 carries and caught three passes for 24 yards.

1985 | Redshirt Year


1986 | Junior Year

Moved to outside linebacker...second-team All-WAC selection...Wilson Diamond player of the game vs. Colorado State and UTEP...linebacker of the week against San Diego State...led linebackers with three QB sacks.
