BOCA Raton, Fla. – BYU women’s golf (287-288-288–863) finished fifth in the FAU Paradise Invitational at Osprey Point Golf Course on Tuesday.
Sophomore Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (71-74-71–216) and junior Lily McCauley (71-70-75–216) each helped lead the Cougars to a top-5 finish by finishing tied for 21st in the individual competition. Barragan made four birdies in her final round to help her jump seven spots up the leaderboard.
Oklahoma (276-278-282–836) maintained the top spot, 13 strokes ahead of second-place Oklahoma State (277-279-293–849). Kentucky (285-286-281–852) took third place and Rutgers (288-284-290–862) claimed fourth.
Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul finished tied for 25th after carding rounds of 74-70-73–217.
Alexa Udom shot a 2-over 218 to finish in a tie for 27th. Like her teammate Barragan, Udom made four birdies in her final round.
Salt Lake native Whitney Banz completed her 54 holes at 7-over 223. The sophomore shot 1-under in her final round, making two birdies in the process.
