Los Angeles, CA - (Sept. 25, 2002) For the first time in three meetings, the UCLA women's soccer team finally defeats the BYU team 6-0 in Los Angeles, Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss the Cougars fall to 3-5 on the season while the no. 3 ranked UCLA team improves to 7-1.
The Bruins who out shot the Cougars 20 to 2 scored three goals in each half for the win.
"We got off to a good start for the first couple of minutes of the game, but then after they (UCLA) put in the two quick goals we struggled to get back on track," said head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "We played a very good team who is solid at every position," added Rockwood.
BYU returns home for a match up against another California school, St. Mary's on Friday, Sept. 27. Kick off from South Field is set for 7 p.m., in a live BYU Television broadcast.
