LAS VEGAS — Behind a -1 day from senior Kendra Dalton, BYU women’s golf sits in fourth place after two rounds of The Rebel Beach at Spanish Trail Country Club on Monday.

"I thought we did a lot of things well today," BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. "We were super composed and fought hard all day. The last round was really windy and the conditions were difficult, so it was good to see Kendra (Dalton) play well."

The Cougars finished the first day of competition at +20, shooting +7 in round one and +13 in round two. Host UNLV leads the field of teams at +14, with Kennesaw State close behind at +15.

Dalton carded 73-71 to tie for first place at -1 after 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament. The senior birdied five holes on Monday and also eagled the par-5 sixth hole in round two.

Heading into Tuesday's third round, Naomi Soifua is tied for 14th place. Soifua fired 74-76 to shoot +6 on Monday.

Annie Yang and Rose Huang are tied for 20th place. Yang and Huang both shot +7, with Yang carding 75-76 and Huang firing 73-78.

Anna Kennedy sits in 67th place at +23.
