MALIBU, Calif. – BYU women’s tennis fell 7-0 to No. 6 Pepperdine in its second road match of the weekend at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center this Saturday.
"Pepperdine is a tough team to be up against for our conference opener," said BYU head coach Holly Hasler. "They are top-10 for a reason. Although the outcome wasn’t what we wanted, we learned a lot and are anxious to get back to work."
Starting in doubles play, the Cougars played a tough match at No. 3 doubles with Emilee Astle and Kara Lin falling 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Leah Heimuli and Madison Smith also fell 6-2 to their opponents to give Pepperdine the doubles point. No. 1 doubles match went unfinished.

At No. 3 and 5 singles, freshmen Huang and Smith were defeated by Savannah Broadus and Nikki Redeljik to confirm the win for the Waves.
