SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – Sophomore Bobo Huang was named to the Singles All-WCC First Team on Wednesday for the first time in her career. Emilee Astle, Jacque Dunyon and Tina Li also earned honors from the conference for their play in doubles.

“Looking back on our fall season, I am amazed with the improvements I’ve seen from every member of the team," said head coach Holly Hasler. "I wish there were enough awards for all of them. The honors for Bobo, Emilee, Jacque and Tina are so well-deserved. The girls have worked day in and day out with the focus of getting one percent better every day. Small pay offs like this are needed to encourage them to push even harder and I can't wait to see what else they can do.”

Huang had a strong sophomore season, with 14 wins to just five losses that propelled her to being one of the best tennis players in the conference. Prior to the regular season, Huang was named to the All-WCC women's tennis preseason team and made her mark known in 2023.

Astle and Dunyon were named to the Doubles All-WCC Second Team, and are 5-3 as a tandem this season. The duo's highlight win of the year came against the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the nation Janice Tjen and Savannah Broadus of No. 5 Pepperdine on April 16th.

Li, as a freshman, was named Honorable Mention Doubles All-WCC along with her teammate Huang. The tandem is 6-1 on the year and is currently on a three-match winning streak.

The Cougars' WCC honorees along with the rest of their teammates will take on no. 5 seeded Portland tomorrow in the first round of the WCC Tournament. A full preview of the tournament can be found here.
