PROVO, Utah — A four-run second inning fueled BYU softball to an 8-0 run-rule victory over San Diego at Gail Miller Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (28-13, 7-2 WCC) capped off the three-game sweep of the Toreros and secured their sixth-straight victory with the win. BYU recorded 11 hits to San Diego's one, while both teams recorded one error.
Starting pitcher Kaysen Korth pitched her 13th complete game of the season, gave up just one hit and recorded three strikeouts.

The Cougars got on the board first with an RBI single from Hailey Morrow in the bottom of the first inning, giving BYU a 1-0 lead.
A leadoff walk to Alyssa Podhurcak-Foss helped set up an eventual RBI triple from Ailana Agbayani. Maddie Bejarano's brought home Agbayani and a two-run home run to right field from Huntyr Ava gave the Cougars a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
BYU picked up three more runs on an RBI triple to right field from Violet Zavodnik, an RBI double down the right field line from Tristen Turlington, and a game-ending RBI single from Agbayani forcing the run rule and clinching the 8-0 victory for the Cougars.
BYU will next host no. 2 UCLA on Monday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m. MDT. The game will be televised on BYUtv and streamed on the BYUtv app.
