PROVO, Utah – No. 1 BYU (7-0-1) women’s soccer travels up north to Logan, Utah Saturday afternoon to face Utah State (2-5-1) for its final non-conference game of the 2023 season.
Saturday’s matchup is scheduled for 3 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.

THE COUGARS. BYU (7-0-1) last played against TCU Thursday evening on South Field for BYU’s first Big 12 game across all sports. The Cougars and Horned Frogs ended the night in a hard-fought 3-3 draw. TCU scored in the second minute of the game to take an early lead, followed by a second goal in the 27th minute, extending the lead 2-0. The Cougars came back with a goal by Rachel McCarthy on a flying header, fed off an Ellie Walbruch free kick. The Cougars trailed going into halftime for the first time since Sept. 10 of the 2022 season. Goals by Allie Fryer and Bailey in the second half, along with another TCU goal led to BYU’s first draw of the season.
THE AGGIES. Utah State (2-5-1) last played Arizona on Sunday, Sept. 10 in Tucson, Arizona, falling to the Wildcats 1-0. Summer Diamond leads her team in goals on the year with two, adding nine shots and one assist. The assist leader for the Aggies is Kelsey Kaufusi with two. Utah State has won two games so far this season, beating Weber State 5-1 in its home-opener and defeating South Dakota State 2-1.
COUGARS VS. AGGIES. The Cougars and Aggies have met 15 times previously, with BYU leading the series 13-1-1. The teams met last season, tying 1-1 for the first time in program history. The Cougars have never lost to Utah State on the Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field, with an all-time road record of 5-0-1.
