Meet Week: No. 3 Men's Cross Country Heads to Virginia Invitational

The Cougars will head to Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Virginia for the second meet of the 2023 season.

EARLYSVILLE, Virginia – No. 3 BYU men’s cross country is set to compete at the Virginia Invitational at Panorama Farms this Saturday.

The Cougars began the season with a victory at the Autumn Classic on Sept. 8, playing host for the program’s first time in two seasons. Joey Nokes took the number one spot on the podium for the Cougars with a time of 19:33.1 on the four-mile course, propelling the junior to win Big 12 Runner of the Week honors.

BYU will compete alongside 22 other teams invited to the Virginia Invitational, including Big 12 opponent Iowa State. 12 teams featured in the USTFCCCA Coaches Preseason National Poll will be in attendance. The Cougars will also face defending champion Northern Arizona, who took the NCAA title ahead of BYU’s third-place, podium spot last year.

The men anticipate racing at Panorama Farms twice this season, with the NCAA Championships taking place in Earlysville on Nov. 18.
