PROVO, Utah – No. 6 BYU (7-1-1) women’s soccer travels to Waco, Texas to face Baylor Thursday evening for its first conference road match this season

Thursday’s matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

IN THE RANKINGS. After its first loss of the season, the Cougars dropped six spots in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 6.

THE COUGARS. BYU (7-1-1) last played against in-state foe Utah State on Saturday, Sept. 16, falling to the Aggies 1-0. Despite outshooting their opponents 12-11, the Cougars suffered their first loss of the season. 

THE BEARS. Baylor (5-3-1) last played UTSA at home on Sunday, Sept. 17, defeating the Roadrunners 1-0. BU had 11 shots from eight different players in the Sunday matchup, with the lone goal coming off the head of Ashley Merrill, her seventh of the season. Baylor picked up its fifth shutout of the season with the win.

COUGARS VS. BEARS. The Cougars and Bears have only met twice previously, with the series tied at 1-1. The last time the teams faced off was in 2014 when the Bears defeated the Cougars on South Field, 2-1.
