Cougs head back on the road to face Iowa State

No. 6 BYU women’s soccer hits the road to face Iowa State at the Cyclone Sports Complex Monday evening.

PROVO, Utah – No. 6 BYU women’s soccer (9-1-2, 2-0-2 Big 12) hits the road to face Iowa State at the Cyclone Sports Complex Monday evening.

Monday’s matchup is scheduled for 5 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

IN THE RANKINGS. The Cougars are currently ranked No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll.

STANDOUT PLAYERS 

  • Sophomore forward Erin Bailey leads the Cougars in goals with seven

  • Senior midfielder Olivia Wade-Katoa leads the Cougars in shots with 34, putting 19 of those shots on frame

  • Senior defender Kendell Petersen leads BYU in assists with eight

  • Senior Brecken Mozingo is three-for-three in penalty kicks this season 

THE COUGARS. BYU last played Cincinnati on South Field, ending the night in a 1-1 draw. Mozingo had the lone goal for the Cougars, scoring off a penalty kick in the 47th minute. BYU outshot the Bearcats 26-6, putting seven shots on frame. 

THE CYCLONES. Iowa State (4-7-1, 1-3 Big 12) last competed against Houston, besting UH 2-1, courtesy of a goal by Salome Prat in the 86th minute. The game remained scoreless heading into halftime, but the teams settled in and combined for three goals in the final 45 minutes on the pitch.

COUGARS VS. CYCLONES. The Cougars and Cyclones will compete for the first time in program history on Monday evening.
