PROVO, Utah – No. 1 BYU (6-0) women’s soccer prepares to face in-state rival Utah (3-1-2) on Ute Field Saturday evening.
Saturday’s matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. MDT. The game will be streamed on Pac-12 Plus.

THE COUGARS. BYU last played against UVU on Clyde Field on Saturday, Sept. 2, besting the Wolverines 6-1. Behind a Bailey brace, BYU scored a season-high six goals against cross-town foe. Brecken Mozingo, Ellie Boren, Allie Fryer and Ellie Walbruch also tallied goals on the night, with assists by Bella Folino, Petersen, Tara Warner and Lytiana Akinaka. Two Cougars saw their first minutes on the pitch against UVU, namely Ella Rustand and Lynette Hernaez. With the win over the Wolverines, the Cougars improved to 6-0 on the season, continuing their undefeated stand.
THE UTES. Utah last played at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, Sept. 3, coming from behind to tie the Titans 2-2. Both Fullerton goals came in the first half, with Utah adding a pair of their own in the second half to secure the draw. Utah outshot Cal State Fullerton 17-16 and added four corner kicks. Taliana Kaufusi leads the Utes in goals with three so far this season.
COUGARS VS. UTES. The Cougars and Utes have a long history, with BYU leading the overall series 25-7-3. The Cougars and Utes faced off last season on South Field, with BYU taking home the 2-1 win courtesy of a game-winning goal by senior midfielder Olivia Wade-Katoa. The first game BYU ever played on South Field was against Utah in 1995, winning 3-1. In that first game of the rivalry, former BYU forward Shauna Rohbock scored her first-ever hat trick.
