Cougars, Horned Frogs face off in dual meet Friday

PROVO, Utah — BYU swim and dive will compete in its first dual meet of the season at conference foe TCU on Friday.

Meet Information

  • Venue: University Recreation Center
  • Morning session events run 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT beginning with the 400 medley relay.
  • Evening session events open with the 200 medley relay at 5:30 p.m. and conclude with the 200 free relay at 8:30 p.m.

TCU in 2022

In 2022, BYU hosted TCU in a dual meet at the Richards Building Pool and beat the Horned Frogs 180-140 in men’s competition and 172-159 in women’s events. Abraham Barragan and Tama Tuitama starred for the BYU men with key wins in the 500 free and 400 individual medley, respectively. Mackenzie Lung led the women to victory with wins in the 100 and 200 breast along with sparking the 200 and 400 medley relay squads to first-place finishes.

Last time out

The Cougars are coming off wins in their season debut at the Intermountain Shootout in Grand Junction, Colorado. Big 12 Newcomer of the Week Jordan Tiffany showed out, recording wins in the 50 and 100 fly while helping the Cougars come out on top in both 200 and 400 medley relays. Mickey Strauss led BYU men’s diving past Air Force, Utah and Colorado Mesa as he swept both 1 and 3-meter diving events.
