PROVO, Utah — Brad Prolo and Jordan Tiffany headline five BYU men's swimmers who will compete at USA Swimming's Toyota U.S. Open Dec. 1-2 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Brad Prolo, Jordan Tiffany, Emerson Edwards, Bryce Broadhead and Tony Puertas will represent BYU at the U.S. Open. Each athlete will compete in long course meters events with the goal of qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials on June 15-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Prolo is set to compete in the 100 and 200 fly along with the 100 and 200 breast. The senior from San Clemente, California ranks eighth among NCAA Division I men’s swimmers with a 200 fly short course yards time of 1:41.80.
Tiffany will look to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the 100 free as well as the 100 fly and 100 back. The reigning Big 12 Men’s Swimmer of the Week ranks sixth and ninth nationally in the 100 fly and 100 back, respectively.
Edwards will compete in the 100 and 200 breast. The junior from Columbia, South Carolina is fresh off a school-record 1:55.85 in the 200 breast at the Mizzou Invitational on Nov. 17.
Puertas will vie for a trials spot in the 100 fly while Broadhead will do so in both 100 and 200 back. Puertas holds four top-10 times at BYU. While only four meets into his collegiate career, the freshman Broadhead already ranks ninth all-time at BYU in the 200 back.
