PROVO, Utah — BYU men’s tennis is set to compete at SMU’s Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4.
Jack Barnett, Redd Owen, TJ Wells and Brian Chen will represent the Cougars in both singles and doubles play.
Location: Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex
Time: Doubles play will begin at 8:30 a.m. CDT, followed by singles at 12:30 p.m.

Competitors: 15 schools in addition to BYU will compete. These include Harvard, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, New Mexico, California, Arkansas, Tulsa, Boise State, Air Force, Rice, Oklahoma, Memphis, Texas Tech, TCU, UT Arlington and SMU.

Barnett, a senior from Noosa, Australia, boasts a 5-1 overall fall record in singles play this year and a 5-2 mark in doubles with Owen. Barnett achieved an undefeated (4-0) singles run to the ITA Regional Championship semifinal round in September, ultimately not competing in the final two rounds due to Sunday play. Owen is 4-3 in singles play on the year.
Wells is fresh off a 3-1 singles performance at Boise State’s General Patton Invite on Oct. 20-21 as Chen will aim to build on a singles victory at the same tournament.
