No. 6 BYU women’s soccer will host in-state foe Utah State for the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening on South Field.

PROVO, Utah – No. 6 BYU women’s soccer will host in-state foe Utah State for the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening on South Field.

Friday’s matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. MT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

THE COUGARS. BYU last competed against Texas Saturday evening in the Big 12 Tournament Championship match, falling to the Longhorns, 3-1 in Round Rock, Texas. Mozingo scored BYU’s lone goal of the night in the 8th minute, assisted by Olivia Wade-Katoa. The Cougars earned a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament following their inaugural season in the Big 12 conference, posting an overall record of 16-2-3.

THE AGGIES. Utah State last competed in the Mountain West Conference tournament, taking home the trophy for the first time in program history with a 1-0 victory over Colorado State Saturday evening. The Aggies’ lone goal came from freshman forward Kate Christian in the 78th minute of the match.

COUGARS VS. AGGIES. The Cougars and the Aggies have competed 16 times previously, with BYU leading the overall series 13-2-1. The teams faced off earlier this season when Utah State beat BYU 1-0, handing the Cougars their only loss of the regular season.
