PROVO, Utah, — The NFL has invited three players from BYU’s 2023 football team to participate in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine—offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia, quarterback Kedon Slovis and All-American punter Ryan Rehkow.

The NFL announced on Tuesday the complete list of 321 top college prospects invited to the annual Combine, which this year takes place from Feb. 26 through Mar. 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Suamataia, who played left tackle for the Cougars in 2023 after starting as a redshirt freshman at right tackle in 2022, has been projected as high as a potential first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Suamataia was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2023.

Slovis led BYU to five wins early in the season while throwing for 1,716 yards and accounted for 15 touchdowns before an injury shortened his season in  game eight. He is one of just 14 quarterbacks the NFL invited to participate in this year's Combine.

Rehkow, who earned All-America honors after finishing the year ranked No. 2 with a 48.4 punting average, is one of only two punters receiving an invitation to work out for NFL teams at the Combine, along with Iowa’s Tory Taylor. Rehkow was also named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and was an honorable mention for the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year Award.

All three former Cougars received NFL Combine invitations after playing in All-Star bowl games following the 2023 season. Suamataia played in the prestigious Senior Bowl, while Slovis and Rehkow both participated in the annual East-West Shrine game. Rehkow also played in the 2024 Hula Bowl along with former BYU tight end Isaac Rex, who also joined Rehkow and Slovis in the Shrine game.

BYU’s three Combine invitees with Rex and other members of last year’s BYU team pursuing NFL opportunities will have the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Big 12 Pro Day this spring at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Big 12 Pro Day, which replaces traditional on-campus school pro days, is being launched in partnership with the NFL to showcase Big 12 football talent together at a world-class facility, providing maximum exposure for Big 12 student-athletes as they prepare for their professional careers.
