THE COUGARS. For the first time this season, the Cougars entered the top-25 rankings, coming in at No. 24 on Road to Nationals. BYU last competed at No. 5 Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 16, falling to the Wildcats 197.775-196.600. The Cougars’ final score was a season high, along with their new season-high score of 49.325 on the balance beam. 

THE PIONEERS. No. 7 Denver last competed in a tri meet against West Virginia and No. 24 Iowa State on Sunday, Feb. 18 in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Pioneers took home first with a final score of 197.350, followed by Iowa State’s 195.675 and West Virginia’s 195.250. Denver set a new program record for highest bars score achieved at an away meet with its 49.600, which also tied the third-highest score on the event in school history.
