PROVO, Utah — Maddie Bejarano's walk-off three-run homer propelled BYU to a 9-7 victory over Utah Valley on Monday evening, securing its second straight win at Gail Miller Field.

Trailing by as many as four runs, the Cougars (16-6, 1-2 Big 12) sparked a comeback in front of a crowd of 517 with 12 total hits, including Bejarano's climactic homer.

Left-handed pitcher Chloe Temples came on to pitch three innings in relief, recording a trio of strikeouts. She surpassed 500 career strikeouts in the outing, and now sits at 501.

Player Highlights

UVU took an early lead with a three-run first inning, highlighted by a two-run single and another RBI hit. BYU started its comeback in the third inning with runs batted in by Huntyr Ava and Udall, reducing the deficit to 3-2.

The Wolverines extended their lead to 6-2 by the fifth inning, capitalizing on a series of hits and taking advantage of BYU's missed opportunities to score.

The Cougars narrowed the gap to 6-5 in the sixth inning following RBIs from Lambert and Agbayani and tied the game at 6 after Agbayani scored on an error.

Utah Valley briefly regained the lead with a solo homer in the top of the seventh before Bejarano's walk-off three-run shot in the bottom of the inning clinched the come-from-behind win for BYU.
