STANFORD, Calif. — After 10 consecutive home games, the Cougars travel to California to face conference opponent Stanford in a pair of matches from March 8-9. Both games will be streaming on the Pac-12 Network.

COUGARS (10-6)

BYU remains at No. 6 in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll following a bye-week. Two weeks ago, after splitting a pair of games against No. 4 UCLA, the Cougars moved up to No. 6 in week eight of the AVCA Coaches Poll after being listed at No. 8. Overall, BYU has been ranked in the top-10 since February 6, 2023 for a total of 22 consecutive weeks in a row. BYU’s highest rank of the 2024 season has been six, with one other previous ranking at No. 6 on the week of February 12, 2024.

Senior opposite Kupono Browne leads the Cougars with 24 aces on the season. Browne also has 65 career aces in three season with BYU, recently surpassing Rob Stowelll and holding the record for 10th most in BYU men's volleyball history (rally scoring era). Before transferring to BYU, Browne played at Stanford as a freshman, totaling 111 kills, 22 blocks and 12 aces while being named to Off the Block's Freshmen All-American Team in 2021.

CARDINAL (8-8)

Stanford is 8-8 on the season, coming off of a four-game stretch on the road. Most recently, the Cardinal fell in back-to-back games against the No. 1 and undefeated GCU Lopes.

Stanford is led by fifth year outside hitter Will Rottman who leads the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in kills per set with an average of 3.81. Rottman also leads the team in kills with 137 on a .338 hitting percentage.

COUGARS VS. CARDINAL

BYU swept Stanford in a pair of matches in Provo last year during the 2023 regular season, but fell to the Cardnial in the 2023 MPSF Semifinals 3-2 in Maples Pavilion. Stanford was chosen to finish second in the MPSF preseason poll this season, with the Cougars being chosen to finish third along with GCU.
