PROVO, Utah — Lauren Gustin was named an All-America honorable mention by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Thursday.

“Lauren is a phenomenal basketball player and I am extremely proud of the hard work she put in this season to earn this recognition," said BYU head coach Amber Whiting. "Many doubted that Lauren could be as successful in the Big 12 and she proved the doubters wrong through grit, dedication and hard work. What Lauren was able to accomplish in the Big 12 was inspiring and she showed that anything can be accomplished if you are willing to put in the effort."

This marks Gustin's third All-America honor (AP [2] & WBCA) as the senior was an AP All-America honorable mention in 2021 and 2024. She is the 17th Cougar to receive All-America recognition and marks the 41st All-America designation in program history. In 2023-24, Gustin was named to the All-Big 12 First Team earning her fourth All-Conference honor in four seasons, since transferring to BYU from Salt Lake Community College in 2019.

The senior led the nation with 30 double-doubles in 33 games (2nd - 27), total rebounding with 504 rebounds (2nd - 441), rebounding average with 15.3 boards per game (2nd - 13.4), defensive rebounds per game with 10.3 (2nd - 9.4) and was second in offensive rebounds per game at 5.1, trailing only LSU's Angel Reese (5.5).

With 504 rebounds this season, Gustin recorded over 500 rebounds in each of the last two seasons and finishes her career with the fourth-most rebounds in NCAA women's basketball history. Along the way, she also shattered the BYU all-time rebounding with 1,694 career rebounds. She will finish her collegiate career as a three-time All-American, a four-time all-conference first-team honoree and the 2023 WCC Defensive Player of the Year.

Gustin has one final chance to showcase her talents as she suits up in the 2024 Women's College All-Star Game in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 6. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. For more information about the game, visit www.womenscollegeallstar.com
