PROVO, Utah – Elijah Crawford has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cougars, BYU men’s basketball head coach Kevin Young announced on Tuesday afternoon.

“We are so excited to welcome Elijah and his family to BYU,” Young said. “He’s an outstanding young man who’s had a great career at Brewster Academy, one of the best high school programs in the country. As one of the best point guards in his class, his ball-handling and playmaking fit perfectly into our program. We look forward to helping him grow his game in Provo.”

The 6-foot-2 point guard out of Brewster Academy is rated as a four-star recruit from ESPN, 247Sports and On3 and is ranked as the 96th best recruit in the country according to ESPN 100. He is the sixth-highest high school recruit in program history and marks the second ESPN 100 signee under Young, with Crawford joining Brody Kozlowski.

Crawford was named the MaxPreps.com New Hampshire Player of the Year after helping Brewster Academy finish 27-7 including a fourth-place finish in EBYL Scholastic, the No. 1 rated league in high school basketball. He averaged 12.0 points, 4.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 46.0 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from three and 90.0 percent from the free throw line.

The Augusta, Georgia native is a 4.0 student and chose BYU over Kansas, Florida, Louisville and Wake Forest.
