PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s basketball head coach Kevin Young announced the addition of Max Triplett to the Cougars 2024-25 roster on Wednesday.
"We are excited to add Max to our group at BYU," Young said. "He had a great career at Snow and has been very well coached. He adds experience, size, and depth to our front court. On top of being a great student-athlete, Max is a great young man. We are thrilled to welcome him and his wife Autumn to BYU."
Triplett comes to Provo after spending the past two seasons at Snow College in Ephraim where he appeared in 57 games, including 31 starts, averaging 9.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
As a sophomore, he earned All-Scenic West second team accolades after averaging a career-high 14.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. The Academic All-American scored in double figures 21 times including seven games with 20-plus. He also recorded five double-doubles, highlighted by a 20-point, 15-rebound performance against College of Southern Idaho.
He was named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week after averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 52 percent from the field. He scored 21 points with seven rebounds in the Badgers' matchup against Pima Community College at the Aztec Classic.
The native of Hunstville, Utah appeared in 30 games, including four starts, as a true freshman in 2022-23 after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Argentina.
