PROVO, Utah – No. 4 BYU women’s soccer takes on Long Beach State on Saturday night at George Allen Field.

The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. MT and will be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. BYU opened a three-game road trip with a 1-1 draw against No. 23 Saint Louis Thursday evening.

THE COUGARS. BYU took on the Saint Louis Billikens in its first road match of the regular season, tying 1-1. The Billikens struck first, leaving the Cougars down 1-0 at the half. In the 68th minute, junior Allie Fryer beat two defenders and SLU goalkeeper to tie the game at 1-1, assisted by Caroline Stringfellow. Fryer is the only Cougar who has scored through the first two games of the season, and now has 21 goals on her career. Goalkeeper Lynette Hernaez had another strong performance in goal, tallying six saves to hold the Billikens to just one goal.

THE BEACH. Long Beach State last took the field against No. 11 Santa Clara Thursday evening, falling to the Broncos, 2-1 on George Allen Field. LBSU converted a penalty kick to cut Santa Clara’s 2-0 lead, bringing the game within one, but could not get another one in the back of the net. With 10 shots on goal by the Broncos, LBSU goalkeeper Aurora Schuck was forced to make eight saves on the night.

COUGARS VS. THE BEACH. The Cougars and The Beach have met 12 times previously, with BYU leading the overall series, 9-3. The teams last met in 2023 on South Field when the Cougars beat LBSU 2-0, courtesy of goals by former Cougs Olivia Wade-Katoa and Bella Folino.
