PROVO, Utah — BYU announced today the addition of future football series with California, Boston College, Oregon State and Colorado State as well as the rescheduling of several other future matchups.
BYU and Cal have agreed to a two-game series, with the Bears of the ACC traveling to Provo in 2026 and the Cougars making a return trip to California Memorial Stadium in 2027. The two universities have met five times previously with BYU holding a 3-2 record in the series. The Cougars won in 1999, 2001 and 2014, while the Bears won in 2005 in the Las Vegas Bowl and the most recent contest at LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2018.
A two-game series with Boston College of the ACC will see the Eagles travel to Provo in 2028, with the Cougars making a return trip to play at BC Alumni Stadium in 2029. The two universities have met three times in football dating back to the first game in 1985. BYU defeated BC, 28-14, to begin the 1985 season at the Kickoff Classic at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The Eagles hold a 2-1 advantage over the Cougars with wins in 2005 and 2006.
Oregon State of the Pac-12 and BYU have agreed to a home-and-home series that will bring the Beavers to Provo in 2027, with the Cougars traveling to Corvallis in 2028 for the return trip at Reser Stadium. BYU and OSU have met 11 times previously in football with the Beavers holding a narrow 6-5 advantage in the series. The two schools split the most recent series in 2011 and 2012, with the visiting team coming away with a road win in both games.
Former conference foe Colorado State and BYU have agreed to a series that will see the Cougars travel to Fort Collins to take on the Rams in 2026. CSU, which joins the Pac-12 in 2026, will make the return trip to Provo in 2029. The 2026 game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2010 when both were members of the Mountain West Conference. As conference foes for decades, the two programs have previously faced each other 69 times. BYU currently holds a 37-29-3 record over CSU, including a seven-game winning streak dating back to 2004.
