Thayne played solid at the baseline while capitalizing on opportunities to come forward to the net in a 6-2, 6-1 win over Carson Lee. Fuchs dropped a tough three-set contest to Diogo Tinoco. The junior had set point opportunities in the first set before falling in a tiebreaker. After falling 6-4 in the second set, the match would conclude with a third-set tiebreaker. Despite a late lead, Fuchs fell 11-9.

Wells finished next with a 6-4, 6-3 setback.

In Goldammer’s first collegiate win, the freshman put together a solid super tiebreaker performance to win 10-6 to seal the three-set victory. Refusing to back down, he remained composed despite a 3-6 loss in the second set.

Owen stayed dialed in from start to finish and not letting off the gas in a 6-1, 6-2 victory. With the win, the sophomore joined Barnett in moving to 4-0 in doubles and singles play over the first two matches.

With no matches scheduled next week, the Cougars will next prepare for a Jan. 25 contest at former WCC foe Loyola Marymount. The start time is yet to be announced.
