PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s soccer team heads to Lubbock, Texas to face the Red Raiders for its final game of the regular season Friday evening.
The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. MT with live coverage on ESPN+.
LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. BYU defeated Houston 3-0 on South Field for Senior Night Monday evening. This win marked BYU’s 170th shutout on South Field.

THE COUGARS. BYU (7-5-5, 5-2-3 Big 12) last faced Houston for its final home game of the regular season, winning 3-0 on South Field. Allie Fryer notched her ninth goal of the year, followed by Lucy Kesler’s first collegiate goal as a 17 year old, true freshman. Center back Avery Frischknecht scored her third goal of the season. All three of her goals have been headers from corner kicks. Addie Gardner tallied her first multi-assist game, with two on the night. The Cougars had a season-high 29 shots and 15 shots on goal in Monday night’s match.
THE RED RAIDERS. Texas Tech (13-2-2, 8-0-2 Big 12) last faced Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon, beating the Bearcats 3-0 in Ohio. The Red Raiders are unbeaten in conference play, coming in at second in the conference. Texas Tech outshot Cincinnati 9-4 on Sunday, with seven shots on frame.
COUGARS VS. RED RAIDERS. The Cougars and Red Raiders have met just once, with a tough battle fought on South Field October 5, 2023 that ended in a 2-2 draw. Current BYU captain Ellie Walbruch and former Coug Jamie Shepherd scored in last year’s matchup.
