PROVO, Utah – After earning a bye in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship, the BYU women’s soccer team heads to Kansas City, Missouri to face the Cowgirls in the conference quarterfinals.
The game is scheduled for 8 a.m. MT and will be streamed on ESPN+.
LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. BYU defeated Texas Tech 2-1 with a last-minute goal by Avery Frischknecht Friday, Oct. 25 to finish the regular season.

THE COUGARS. BYU (8-5-5, 6-2-3 Big 12) faced Texas Tech for its final game of the regular season, beating the Red Raiders 2-1 with a last-minute goal. After Texas Tech scored first, BYU’s Mackenzee Vance scored off a free kick outside the 18-yard box to tie the game. In the last 40 seconds of the match, the Cougars earned another free kick outside the box, which found the head of center back Avery Frischknecht for BYU’s winning goal. With the win, BYU secured its spot in the quarterfinals of the Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship.
THE COWGIRLS. OSU (14-3-3, 6-3-2 Big 12) played in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship on Wednesday morning, beating Cincinnati 3-2 with three goals scored in the final 13 minutes of the match. The Cowgirls’ Alex Morris delivered the game winner with just 62 seconds remaining. OSU outshot Cincinnati 16-9 and added three saves and four corner kicks.
COUGARS VS. COWGIRLS. The Cougars and Cowgirls have met four times previously, with BYU leading the overall series 2-1-1. The teams met earlier this season, playing to a 2-2 draw on South Field on Sept. 26. Mika Krommenhoek scored her first collegiate goal in that match, while Mackenzee Vance added a goal to her stat sheet as well.
