JUST WIN, BABY

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
Egor Demin became the first Cougar to pick up a Big 12 weekly award as the freshman was named the league's Newcomer of the Week on Monday, sharing the honor with Kansas's Zeke Mayo.
Demin, a 6-foot-9 guard, is the only freshmen and one of eight players in NCAA Division I men's basketball to be averaging 15.0 points and 8.0 assists per game (min. two games played). He has led the Cougars in scoring in wins over Central Arkansas and UC Riverside, including a 20-point performance in the win over Highlanders, making him one of six freshmen to score 20 or more points since the start of the 2016-17 season.
FOUSS ON THE LOOSE
Nine of Fousseyni Traore's 12 rebounds this season have been on the offensive glass as the Cougars are outscoring opponents 40-9 in second chance points. The senior had five offensive boards on Friday, giving him 245 for his career and moving him into a tie for fifth on the BYU all-time list with Russell Larson (1991-95). With five offensive rebounds on Wednesday, he would moved past Brandon Davies (2009-13) and became the fourth Cougar with 250 or more offensive rebounds.
WAKE ME UP WHEN NOVEMBER ENDS
The Cougars have won 20 straight home games in November, a streak that dates back to November 2019. They have also won 10 straight in the 11th month of the year, including victories over Arizona State and NC State en route to winning the Vegas Showdown last season.
