PROVO, Utah — The women's tennis team will begin their 2025 season on Jan. 16 with two matches against Weber State and Utah Tech.
The Cougars will first travel to Ogden and face the Wildcats at 10 a.m. MST. The match will not be streamed.
The team will return to the Indoor Tennis Courts in Provo to compete against the Bison at 5:30 p.m. MST. Livestreams for all four courts can be found on byucougars.com at the start of the match.

BYU Notes
- Head Coach Holly Hasler begins her seventh season, with a career record of 75-55.
- This season, Hasler welcomed new assistant coach Anastasia Hayden, a former BYU women's tennis athlete and two-time Mountain West Conference champion.
- BYU adds four new athletes to their roster this season: Iowa transfer Chelsea Bluestein, freshman Hiba Heni, UCF transfer Grace Levelston and freshman Sue Yan Tan. Bluestein is a five-star recruit and was No. 18 in the overall recruit class of 2023. Heni has played in over 15 tournaments in the last four years and and is a three-time Tunisia champion. Levelston was the no. 2 recruit in 2023 and played one year at UCF. Tan won two singles and four doubles titles as an ITF Junior.
Weber State Notes
- The Wildcats' match against BYU is also their season opener.
- Weber State went 14-10 last season, with five wins at home.
- The team ranked fifth in the Big Sky Conference and won against the No. 1 and No. 4 teams in their conference in the Big Sky Championships.
- Brad Ferreira, assisted by first-year graduate assistant coach Ana Morett, is the Director of Tennis for the Wildcats and leads them for the 14th year.

Utah Tech Notes
- The Bison are currently 0-0 and will play their first match against BYU on Jan. 16.
- The team finished 6-16 last season, with five of their wins coming from away matches.
- Eric Pelton begins his 19th season as Utah Tech women's tennis head coach, assisted by Laura Perry and Steve Bui.
- Utah Tech finished last in the Western Athletic Conference.
