THE COUGARS. BYU brought home its first Big 12 win of the season, beating West Virginia in the Marriott Center 195.675-195 Friday evening. The Cougars earned several new career and season highs, including a season-high floor score of 49.325 to help boost them above the Mountaineers. After BYU’s fifth-consecutive 195 or higher, the Cougars come in at No. 31 in the Road to Nationals rankings, notching an NQS score of 195.395.

THE CYCLONES. Iowa State last competed at No. 18 Arizona, falling to the Wildcats 195.900-194.525. Senior Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa led the Cyclones on beam and vault, with a 9.8 on vault and 9.9 on beam. Iowa State’s 48.950 bars score was the second-highest of the season. BYU and Iowa State faced last season, when the Cougars fell to the Cyclones 196.900-196.125 at Hilton Coliseum.
