PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis returns to the road after just one match at home in Provo. On Friday, Feb. 21, the Cougars will face Cal Poly at 7:00 p.m. MST and stay in San Luis Obispo for a neutral site match against Idaho on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. MST.
BYU Notes
- BYU is 7-1 on the season so far and has won its last five matches. The Cougars most recently picked up a 6-1 home win against the Idaho State Bengals, dropping just one singles match.
- They have only one loss on the road this season coming against Oregon as they lost 6-1.
- At 7-1, the Cougars have had their best eight-match start since the 2017-18 season and would tie their best ten-match start if they can pick up two-weekend wins.
Cal Poly Notes
- Cal Poly is led by head coach Nick Carless and assistant coach Jurgen De Jager. Carless has been with the team for 14 seasons and De Jager for three.
- The Mustangs have begun their season 2-5. Their most recent match was against the University of Utah, which they lost 1-4.
Idaho Notes
- Idaho is led by head coach Raleigh Grossbaum in his second season with the team. He is assisted by Logan Hall and Jesse Lemon.
- The Vandals have gotten off to a 4-3 start in their first seven matches. Most recently they picked up a sweep against Eastern Washington on the road.
