After being shutout in the series opener, 1-0, the Cougars responded by winning game two, 6-5. BYU took its first lead of game three on a two-run homer in the seventh inning, but the Sun Devils ultimately prevailed in extra innings, taking the series, 2-1.

Miranda Mansfield (.400), Ilove'a Brittingham (.364) and Lindy Milkowski (.300) each hit .300 or better on the week, with Lily Owens (.286) just behind. Owens finished with a team-high three RBI in the series, while Hailey Morrow tallied two of the team's three extra-base hits.

For the season, the Cougars now have five batters hitting .300+: Brittingham (.391), Milkowski (.357), Owens (.340), Bre Townsend (.333) and Morrow (.302), with Lauren Flanders' .294 just outside.

As a team, BYU is ranked in the top 25 nationally in four statistical categories: double plays per game (No. 6, 0.71), total double plays (No. 7, 15), ERA (No. 16, 2.00) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (No. 23, 3.03).

The Cougars are also in the top 50 in five other categories: WHIP, sacrifice bunts, home runs per game, total home runs and fielding percentage.

Korth and ctacher Lindy Milkowski represent BYU on the individual side, with the pitcher's four saves ranking third in the country and her 0.89 ERA good for 11th. Milkowski has caught seven runners stealing, which ranks No. 21 nationwide.
