PROVO, Utah — BYU baseball wraps up an eight-game home stand at Miller Park on March 17 at 4 p.m. MDT, with game one of a two-game season series with Utah Tech. The second meeting between the Cougars and  Trailblazers is scheduled for April 8 at Bruce Hurst Field in St. George.

BYU and Utah Tech will meet for the 19th time on Monday. BYU swept the two-game series with Utah Tech a season ago to improve its all-time series record to 15-3. Cougar third baseman Easton Jones recorded three RBI and catcher Parker Goff had two doubles to guide BYU baseball to an 8-2 win in the last meeting between the schools last April. 

The Cougars are off to an 11-7 start in 2025 and are 1-2 in Big 12 play. BYU hosted UCF at Miller Park last weekend, winning game two 8-7 while dropping the bookend games of the three-game series 9-8 and 7-6.

SERIES HISTORY. BYU leads the all-time series 15-3 and is a perfect 11-0 when facing Utah Tech in Provo. The Cougars have won the last three games in the series. 

KNOW THE FOE. Utah Tech completed its fourth NCAA Division I season in 2024 with a 14-42 overall record and finished ninth in the Western Athletic Conference at 10-20. The Trailblazers were also picked to finish ninth in the 2025 WAC Baseball Preseason Poll. 

Chris Pfatenhauer is in his 13th season as the head baseball coach at Utah Tech. The Trailblazers are off to a 12-11 start in 2025 and are coming off a four-game sweep of Cal State Bakersfield in St. George last weekend.
