Cougars set to compete at Texas Relays, Bobcat and Utah Valley Invitationals

The BYU track and field program will have athletes in three separate meets this weekend, with two in Texas and one across town.

PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s and women’s track and field will have athletes compete in three meets from Thursday to Saturday.

Women's Preview

Paje Rasmussen and Cate Phipps Louis are set to race the 100m on Friday at Texas Relays and will also be in the relay pool for BYU's 4x100m, 4x200m and sprint medley relays. 

Zoey Bonds, Cameron Bliss and Summer Young will compete in their first heptathlon of the season at the Bobcat Invitational. The seven-event competition will start Thursday at 11 a.m. MT with the 100m hurdles. 

Pole vaulters Maren Garnett and Rebekah Erikson will compete at both the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational. Garnett placed second at the Aztec Invitational on March 22 with a jump of 4.17m/13-8.25 and Erikson placed third at 4.07m/13-4.25.

The throws group will compete at the Utah Valley Invitational on March 28. Jea Genet recently added her name to the BYU top-10 board with a throw of 54.62m/179-2 in the javelin at the Willie Williams Classic on March 21. 

Men's Preview

The men will get started at the Texas Relays Thursday with Jace Jensen and G Kire Goulding in the 400m hurdles. Jensen most recently had a 53.03 outing in the event this past weekend at the 2025 Willie Williams Classic in which he took sixth overall. It will be a season debut for Goulding who has a personal best 52.55 in the event. 

Other headliners at Texas Relays include Riley Hunt and Logan Hubler in the 110m hurdles. Hunt holds the school record in the event with a 13.70 finishing time in the 2024 NCAA West First Round. 

The Bobcat Invitational will see multi-event athletes Jaden Roskelley and Kaden Passey take the stage in the men’s decathlon. Roskelley earned a personal best of 7325 points at the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Championships as a freshman last season. Passey will head to Texas as a current freshman to make his debut in the event. 

Other notable Cougars at the Bobcat Invitational include Ethan Amata in the men’s pole vault and Connor Saunders in the high jump. 

The Utah Valley Invitational will feature men from multiple position groups, headlined by the men’s throws. First Team All-American Danny Bryant is set to lead the Cougars. Bryant recently placed in the top five in both the shot put and discus throw at the Willie Williams Classic.
