PROVO, Utah – BYU gymnastics will compete against Utah State on Wednesday at 2 p.m. MT at the Huntsman Center for the first round of the NCAA Utah Gymnastics Regional competition.

Team Highlights

  • Kylie Eaquinto (vault, bars), Brynlee Andersen (beam), Anna Bramblett-Wilde (bars) and Deb Silva (vault) qualified as individuals for the NCAA Regional
  • For the sixth meet in a row, Eaquinto tallied three scores of 9.8 or higher, 9.8 on vault, 9.850 on bars and 9.825 on floor
  • Bramblett-Wilde tied her season-high bars score with a 9.925, earning her the honors of Co-Bars Big 12 Champion
  • Senior Sophie Dudley earned a new career-high beam score of 9.850
  • Senior Olivia Matern earned a new career-high floor score of 9.850
  • Eliza Millar-Crossman earned a new season-high score of 9.850
  • Silva made her career debut on beam at the Big 12 Championship, scoring a 9.775 on the apparatus

THE COUGARS. BYU last competed at the afternoon session of the Big 12 Championship, earning a meet-high 196.275, taking home an overall fourth-place finish out of the conference. Brynlee Andersen was named Big 12 Co-Event Specialist of the Year and Eliza Millar-Crossman earned her second-straight Big 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year award. With the selection show last Monday, the Cougars have now had 12 consecutive NCAA Regionals berths. The Cougars and Aggies faced once this season at the Best of Utah meet, when Utah State scored a 196 and BYU scored 195.750.

THE AGGIES. Utah State had an overall record of 9-10 this season, going 3-3 in the Mountain West Conference. The Aggies took home their first-ever Mountain West Championship, scoring a 196.100 to beat Air Force, Boise State and San Jose State. Utah State is ranked No. 32 in the nation, tied with BYU. The Aggies have an NQS of 196.025 and will be competing in their 28th NCAA Regional.
