LOS ANGELES – The No. 7 Cougars travel to No. 2 UCLA for two matches in Pauley Pavilion from April 11-12, with Saturday's game being televised on the Big 10 Network for the first time in men's volleyball history.

COUGARS (17-7, 5-3 MPSF)

BYU swept Stanford in back-to-back matches last weekend, winning in three and four sets. Senior outside hitter Luke Benson led the Cougars offensively with 25 kills while senior middle blocker Teon Taylor led with six blocks and a combined .667 hitting percentage through both matches (12 kills on 18 swings).

Taylor leads the Cougars with 95 blocks on the season, averaging 1.06 blocks per set. Taylor is two solo blocks shy of becoming fourth all-time in the BYU men’s volleyball history books for career solo blocks. He also holds a 2025 MPSF single-match high, with 11 total blocks against UCSB on Feb. 8.

BRUINS (17-4, 7-1 MPSF)

The UCLA men's volleyball program, winners of back-to-back National Championships, is one of two teams that are 7-1 to begin MPSF play, along with USC. The Bruins most recently went 1-1 at GCU to suffer their first conference loss of the year, getting swept 3-0 on Friday, April 4.

Redshirt junior outside hitter Cooper Robinson leads UCLA in kills with 254, averaging 3.53 kills per set while hitting .388. His .388 hitting percentage is the 12th best in the NCAA.

COUGARS VS. BRUINS

The No. 7 Cougars are facing UCLA in their final road matches of the regular season. The Cougars were the only team to defeat UCLA in conference play last season, winning in five sets in Provo on Feb. 23, 2024.

BYU head coach Shawn Olmstead is 13-7 all-time against the Bruins, and the overall series record is 39-37 in favor of UCLA.

The Cougars defeated UCLA 3-0 in the 2001 National Championship, featuring Olmstead on the BYU roster as libero.
