Along with the 11-game Big 12 conference schedule, the Cougars will also compete in two exhibition matches and six non-conference games. BYU will host a total of 10 regular season matches on South Field.

IRVING, Texas — In conjunction with the Big 12 Conference, BYU released its full 2025 women’s soccer schedule today. 

Entering year three as members of the Big 12 Conference, BYU will play 11 conference matches over a seven-week period, spanning from mid-September through late-October. Along with the Big 12 slate, the Cougars will also be playing in six non-conference games. 

Prior to beginning non-conference play, the Cougars will open the 2025 season with a Blue-White game on South Field (Aug. 2), and two exhibition games held at home against SUU on Aug. 6 and Utah Tech on Aug. 9.

BYU’s non-conference schedule will consist of five home games and one away contest. The Cougars will face four non-conference opponents who finished the 2024 season ranked top-25 nationally. BYU will open its non-conference schedule with a lone road match at No. 17 Minnesota (Aug. 14) before hosting five games in a row at South Field. BYU will welcome No. 18 UCLA (Aug. 23), No. 25 Auburn (Aug. 29), No. 9 Arkansas (Sept. 2), Utah State (Sept. 6) and UVU (Sept. 12) to Provo. 

The Cougars will open their Big 12 schedule facing Arizona State on Saturday, Sept. 20. BYU will then host West Virginia (Sept. 24) and Cincinnati (Sept. 27) before playing three road games at Houston (Oct. 2), Oklahoma State (Oct. 6) and Baylor (Oct. 10).

The Cougars return to South Field for their final three home matches of the regular season against Arizona (Oct. 16), Colorado (Oct. 20) and Kansas (Oct. 23).

BYU will end its 2025 regular season campaign on the road at UCF (Oct. 27) and up the road at in-state rival Utah (Oct. 30). 

Following the conclusion of the 2025 regular season, the Cougars will compete in the Big 12 Soccer Championship, beginning Monday, Nov. 3 in Fort Worth, Texas hosted by TCU. The final game of the championship will be played on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Baylor in Waco, Texas. The NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced in November.

Non-Conference Opponents

@Minnesota - Aug. 14

Minnesota and BYU will compete for just the third time when the Cougars travel to Minneapolis for the 2025 season opener on Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. 

The Golden Gophers finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 14-5-3, going 6-3-2 in Big Ten conference play. They made a run in the NCAA Tournament, falling to then-No. 2 UNC in the Sweet 16. Minnesota finished the 2024 season ranked No. 17 nationally. 

UCLA - Aug. 23

UCLA and BYU will face off for the ninth time in program history as the Bruins travel to Provo to compete at South Field on Aug. 23. After beating the then-No. 1 UCLA on South Field in 2023, the Cougars fell to the Bruins 1-0 in non-conference play last season.

The Bruins finished their 2024 season ranked 18th nationally, capturing their first-ever Big Ten title and losing to Virginia Tech in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. UCLA went 17-4-3 overall and 8-1-2 in Big Ten conference play.

Auburn - Aug. 29

Auburn and BYU have met previously on two separate occasions, with the most recent being in 2021 when the Tigers beat the Cougars 2-1. 

The Tigers took the final spot in the top-25 rankings to end the 2024 season after going 13-4-4 overall and 4-2-4 in SEC play. Auburn made a run in the NCAA Tournament, falling to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the second round.

Arkansas - Sept. 2

Arkansas and BYU will meet for the fifth time in program history on South Field on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The teams faced last year with Arkansas taking home the win, 4-2.

The Razorbacks finished their 2024 season 16-2-3 overall, 8-1-1 in SEC play. After falling to Texas in double overtime in the SEC Tournament, Arkansas made a run in the NCAA Tournament. After beating OSU and Cal, the Razorbacks fell to Stanford on PK’s. 

Utah State - Sept. 6

Utah State and BYU will compete for the 18th time on South Field on Saturday, Sept. 6. Last year, the Aggies defeated the Cougars 2-1 on South Field. All three losses to Utah State have come in the last three seasons.

The Aggies finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 18-1-5, going 7-1-3 in Mountain West Conference play. After beating Boise State for their second-straight MWC Tournament title, the Aggies fell to Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks.

UVU - Sept. 12

BYU will take on cross-town rival UVU at home on South Field on Sept. 12. The Cougars and Wolverines have competed nine times in regular season play. Last year, the teams met for an exhibition match, where the Cougars fell to the Wolverines.

The Wolverines finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 12-5-2, going 6-0-1 in WAC play. UVU’s season ended with a loss to Cal Baptist in the WAC Tournament Semifinals. 

Big 12 Opponents

Arizona St. - Sept. 20

BYU and Arizona State will open Big 12 play on Saturday, Sept. 20. This will be the sixth all-time meeting between the two teams. Last year, BYU beat the Sun Devils 1-0 their first season as members of the conference.

Arizona State finished its 2024 season with an overall record of 8-8-3, going 3-7-1 in conference play. The Sun Devils lost to Kansas in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship to end their season.

West Virginia - Sept. 24

West Virginia and BYU have also faced off once back in 2009 when BYU won 1-0 in overtime. The Cougars and Mountaineers did not compete last season, making this the first meeting between the two schools as members of the same conference.

The Mountaineers finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 12-5-3, going 8-2-1 in Big 12 conference play. West Virginia closed out its season getting bounced after No. 5 Kentucky advanced on penalty kicks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Cincinnati - Sept. 27

Cincinnati and BYU have only faced once back in 2023 when the teams tied 1-1 BYU’s first season as members of the Big 12 conference.

The Bearcats finished their 2024 season with a 6-9-4 overall record, going 2-6-3 in Big 12 conference play. They lost to OSU in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship, 3-2.

@Houston - Oct. 2

Houston and BYU will compete for the second time in program history after facing off for the first time last season when the Cougars won 3-0 on South Field.

The Houston Cougars finished their 2024 season with a 4-12-1 overall record, going 1-10 in Big 12 play. 

@Oklahoma St. - Oct. 6

OSU and BYU will compete for the sixth time in program history. The Cougars and Cowgirls competed twice last season, once in the regular season and once in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship. The teams tied 1-1 during the season, but BYU beat OSU 5-0 in the conference tournament.

The Cowgirls finished their 2024 season with a record of 14-5-3, going 6-3-2 in Big 12 conference play. After the conference tournament, the Cowgirls competed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, falling to Arkansas 4-0.

@Baylor - Oct. 10

Baylor and BYU will compete for the fifth time in series history, with the last game ending in a 3-3 tie last season.

The Bears finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 8-8-5, going 2-5-4 in conference play. Their season ended with a 2-1 loss to Texas Tech in the second round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship.

Arizona - Oct. 16

Arizona and BYU have played 14 times, with the most recent match being a 2-1 Arizona win last season. 

The Wildcats finished their 2024 season with an overall record of 11-6-2, going 6-4-1 in Big 12 conference play. Their season ended with a loss to Baylor in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship.

Colorado - Oct. 20

Colorado and BYU will compete for the first time since both teams joined the Big 12 conference on Monday, Oct. 20 on South Field. The Cougars and Buffaloes have competed nine times in program history, with the most recent game being a 2-2 tie in 2022.

The Buffaloes finished their 2024 season with a 12-5-5 overall record, going 4-2-5 in conference play. They made a run in the NCAA Tournament, falling to Wake Forest 3-1 in the second round.

Kansas - Oct. 23

Kansas and BYU will face off for the seventh time on Thursday, Oct. 23 on South Field. The teams competed last year and tied 2-2.

The Jayhawks finished their 2024 campaign with an overall record of 13-6-4, going 6-4-1 in Big 12 conference play. Beating TCU 1-0 in the Big 12 Soccer Championship final, Kansas brought home its second Big 12 Tournament title in program history, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. They lost 1-0 to Saint Louis in the first round.

@UCF - Oct. 27

UCF and BYU will compete for the second time this season, facing off only once in 2023. In the 2023 matchup, the Cougars beat the Knights 3-2 in the final home game of the regular season.

The Knights finished their 2024 schedule with an overall record of 3-6-6, going 1-5-4 in Big 12 conference play.

@Utah - Oct. 30

BYU will take on in-state rival Utah in the final match of the regular season in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday, Oct. 30. The two teams have faced 37 times in program history, the longest-standing rivalry in BYU women’s soccer. Last year, the Cougars played the Utes on South Field, beating them 2-1.

The Utes finished their first year in the Big 12 with an overall record of 8-6-5, going 5-3-3 in conference play. Their season ended with a loss to Colorado in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship.
