PROVO, Utah — Five Cougars were named to the 2025 MPSF Men's Volleyball All-Academic team, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Jackson Fife, Noa Haine, Tyler Herget, Miks Ramanis and Teon Taylor were honored this season for BYU.
In order to qualify for the conference's all-academic team, the student-athlete must carry a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received and have competed in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition.
- Fife completed his junior year at BYU studying microbiology. He totaled 179 digs, leading the team with an average of 1.85 digs per set. This is Fife's second consecutive academic all-conference honor.
- Senior setter Haine graduated from BYU with a degree in global supply chain management. Haine finished with 293 sets and 43 digs, appearing in 16 matches for BYU in 2025. This is Haine's first academic honor from the MPSF.
- Junior setter Herget completed his second academic year at BYU while studying accounting. Herget led the team in assists with 818, totaling 143 digs, 47 blocks and 20 aces as well. This is Herget's first academic all-conference honor as it was his first year of eligibility for the award.
- Senior outside hitter Ramanis graduated from BYU with a degree in communications studies. Ramanis finished with 148 kills, 56 digs, 23 blocks and 10 aces for the Cougars in 2025. This is Ramanis' first academic honor from the MPSF.
- Senior middle blocker Taylor also graduated from BYU with a degree in biology. Taylor led the team in blocks with 114 total blocks, starting in 100% of BYU’s matches in 2025 as the only Cougar to do so. This is Taylor's fourth consecutive all-academic honor by the MPSF.
Five members is the most by BYU on the MPSF All-Academic Team since 2018.
The Cougars finished the 2025 season ranked No. 8 in the AVCA coaches poll. In Shawn Olmstead's 10th year as head coach, BYU went 19-10 overall and 7-5 in MPSF play, including ranked wins over Ohio State, Ball State, UCSB, Stanford and Pepperdine (2025 MPSF Champions).
