PROVO, Utah — BYU football finished its last official fall camp practice on Tuesday morning and will turn its focus to the season opener on August 30 against Portland State.
The Cougars had 16 camp practices, including multiple scrimmages to get the work needed in fall camp before implementing more game prep starting Thursday this week.
BYU used the camp period to determine various position battles and solidifed areas on the depth chart as needed, including naming freshman Bear Bachmeier the starting quarterback for week one.
Following practice, head coach Kalani Sitake, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick and linebacker Jack Kelly spoke with members of the media.
